Mittelaltermarkt = Medieval market
Our kind of Christmas market where everything is handmade from Cheese to wine, to clothing to jewellery, to toys to tools and you could even have a bath there. My favoured  food is the Thüringer Bratwurst flushed down with a hot beverage made from wine from Brasil with spices. Top it up with Cuban rum and you are in heaven.
This kind of market is new to Germany since the late 90th and becomes more and more popular.
